Maryland Property Assessments Up 12% Over 2019

Maryland property values increased by 12% over 2019 based upon the state’s recent reassessment of Group 1 residential and commercial properties. In Maryland, over 2 million property accounts are divided into three groups, which are each assessed every three years. The increase was the highest percentage gain since before the Great Recession. Charles County led the state with a combined increase of 23.4%, followed by Wicomico (18.5%) and Frederick (18.4%) counties.
